the design

The goal of the design process is to get the client’s approved design on paper.

The next step is for the designer to take the information gleaned from the client and the as-built plans for the project ad begin preliminary design work in two and three dimensions. This beginning design phase, which will evolve into working and permit approved construction documents, and a back and forth process between the client and the designer, as a successful design takes into account all of the client’s needs and desires. Each design meeting will result in some editing, changes and fine-tuning of the designed space and the products and furnishings specified therein. The goal is to get exactly what the client wants on paper so that the design can be sent out to bid to contractors, tradesmen and fabricators, and to ensure your project fits within the desired budget and time constraints.
